BADM (BS) Business Studies

Mission

The Business Studies concentration's mission is to provide a varying program of study for those students who seek a broad understanding of the functional areas of business without the limitation of concentrating specifically in only one functional area as required in a traditional major. The student will gain competence in a career area via a career profile that is developed in consultation with a faculty adviser. The career profile will guide the program of study.

Learning Outcomes

Management Activities and Decisions
Students will be able to identify and assess the ethical dimensions of management activities and evaluate their impacts on management decisions.
Dimensions:
1.1 Students will be able to identify ethical dimensions of a management decision or situation.
1.2 Students will be able to determine possible courses of action in an ethical dimension of a management decision or situation.

Global Environments Strategy
Students will be able to evaluate the influence global environments have on management decisions and formulate appropriate strategies to improve performance.
Dimensions:
2.1 Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of competitive challenges in the global market environments.
2.2 Students will be able to match appropriate international strategies and policies to various global environments.
