CARS (BS) Apparel Product Design


Through excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community engagement, the Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies Department prepares and advances leaders in our field. We provide a strong educational foundation through an innovative curriculum, integrating theory with hands-on-experience and/or research within the community, with the flexibility for students to pursue their individual career interests related to the global apparel industry.

Learning Outcomes

Apparel Design Knowledge and Skills
Students will be able to apply elements and principles of design to analysis of apparel products and be able to create original designs using a variety of materials.

Apparel Product Development Knowledge
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of apparel construction techniques and patternmaking principles, and manufacturing processes.

Computer Application Knowledge
Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of applications of computer technology throughout the design process.
