Mission

Through excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community engagement, the Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies Department prepares and advances leaders in our field. We provide a strong educational foundation through an innovative curriculum, integrating theory with hands-on-experience and/or research within the community, with the flexibility for students to pursue their individual career interests related to the global apparel industry.

Learning Outcomes

Communication Skills
Students will deliver a concise oral presentation that demonstrates persuasiveness and subject matter expertise. Students will demonstrate technical and integrative writing skills to synthesize concepts and communicate ideas.

Disciplinary concepts and application
Students will demonstrate mastery of disciplinary concepts and their application in research and industry.

Research Skills
Students will be able to conduct independent research in the field using appropriate methods and analytical techniques.
