Mission

Through excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community engagement, the Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies Department prepares and advances leaders in our field. We provide a strong educational foundation through an innovative curriculum, integrating theory with hands-on-experience and/or research within the community, with the flexibility for students to pursue their individual career interests related to the global apparel industry.

Students will apply apparel industry, consumer behavior, and product knowledge and skills.

Global Dynamics
Students will describe and explain the global dynamics inherent in the apparel industry.

Challenges and Solutions of the Apparel Industry
Students will analyze challenges of the apparel industry and develop possible solutions.

Oral and Written Communications
Students will utilize oral and written communication skills.

Buying and Planning
Students will apply merchandising math accurately for buying, planning and control.

Marketing Strategy
Students will develop creative marketing strategies for apparel retailers.
