ISOM (PhD) Information Systems

Mission

The PhD in Information Systems (IS) at UNC Greensboro is an innovative, research oriented doctoral program designed to prepare students primarily for careers as members of faculty in academic IS units and secondarily as professionals in non-academic research and professional organizations. The educational focus is on developing the students' technical and empirical research skills as well as teaching skills.


Learning Outcomes

Conduct Quality Research
Students will have knowledge of the Information Systems (IS) discipline.
1.1 Develop a sound research plan.
1.2 Complete an entire research study.

Information Systems Knowledge
Students will have knowledge of the Information Systems (IS) discipline.
2.1 Demonstrate knowledge of various sub-areas of IS.
2.2 Be able to integrate sub-areas of IS.

Pedagogy
Students will demonstrate pedagogical skills for teaching IS courses.
3.1 Develop materials to teach a course in IS.
3.2 Effectively deliver a course in IS.
