Sustainable Tourism & Hospitality (BA)

Mission

The Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality program is committed to preparing our students to take on leadership positions in the global tourism and hospitality sector. We strive to impart 21st century skills to students so they can become global citizens, solve complex problems by using sustainable development tools and a triple-bottom line approach, think innovatively and entrepreneurially, and communicate effectively. Our students engage in sustainability-focused tourism and hospitality courses, work experience, and community projects and increase their global awareness through language study, and international experiences.


Learning Outcomes

Ability to Speak Effectively in the Discipline
Speaks clearly, coherently, and effectively in the sustainable tourism and hospitality discipline.

Ability to Write Effectively in Discipline
Demonstrate the ability to write clearly, coherently, and effectively in the sustainable tourism and hospitality discipline.

Sustainability
Students will be able to recommend strategies to address complex tourism development problems by using systems thinking and other sustainability approaches.

Applied Quantitative Reasoning
Students will be able to apply a variety of mathematical approaches to the evaluation of hospitality business performance.
