The Mission of the Department of Community and Therapeutic Recreations is to prepare recreation, park, and leisure services professionals to enhance health, wellness, and quality of life among individuals and communities through excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.

Learning Outcomes

Assess the Conceptual Foundations Guiding CTR
Students will analyze, synthesize, and evaluate the conceptual foundations of parks and recreation service delivery.

Apply Critical Thinking Skills of the Management of CTR Services
Students in CTR 613, Management in Parks and Recreation, prepare and present a comprehensive analysis of the management of the physical aspects of a park, open space, or recreation facility. Evaluation of this assignment will place the student on a scale reflecting four levels: mastery, competency, meeting minimum standards, and no competency.

Demonstrate Comprehensive Application through Capstone Experience
