UNCG Student Learning Outcomes

Kinesiology (MS)

Students in the MS Program in Kinesiology will acquire in-depth knowledge in a single disciplinary area in Kinesiology and will gain exposure to other subdisciplines within the field of Kinesiology. Additionally, MS students will become skilled consumers of research literature and will be able to apply their knowledge to professional practice and/or their own independent research.

Learning Outcomes

Core Knowledge
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of core theories in one or more concentrations within Kinesiology.

Critical Thinking
Students will demonstrate their ability to critically appraise empirical literature in a relevant area of study.

Synthesize empirical research
Students will demonstrate their ability to synthesize empirical research relevant to the field of Kinesiology.

Apply Scientific Evidence
Students will apply scientific evidence relevant to their field of practice.

Conducting Scientific Research
Students will demonstrate competence in the conduct of scientific research (required of MS thesis-option students only).​

Professional Behaviors
Students will develop professional behaviors to successfully transition from academics to practice.
