Public Health Education (BS) Community Health Education

The mission of the program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education is to prepare graduates to assume a role as a certified health education specialist in diverse public health settings and/or for pursuit of advanced degrees in public health or health-related professional schools by educating them in the core areas of public health including social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, public health statistics, and health policy and administration; and health education.

Learning Outcomes

Assess Individual & Community Needs
Students will be able to assess individual and community needs for health education through an examination of the relationships among behavioral, environmental and genetic factors that enhance or compromise health.

Communicate & Advocate
Students will demonstrate effective communication for health and health education.

Implement Health Education Strategies
Students will implement health education strategies in health education programs.

Plan Health Education Strategies
Students will plan a health education intervention.
