Nursing (BSN)

Mission
At the conclusion of the senior year, the student should:

  1. Demonstrate nursing concepts and skills (related to wellness, illness, disease and dysfunction) as they apply to individuals, families, groups, and communities.
  2. Integrate inquiry (nursing process, research, and evidence based practice) into nursing practice.
  3. Practice as a nursing generalist (legally defined in the NC nurse practice act) in promoting the well-being of individuals, families, groups, and communities.

Learning Outcomes

Nursing Knowledge and Skills Learning Outcome
BSN and RN-BSN students will demonstrate nursing knowledge and skills related to promotion of wellness and treatment of illness, disease, and dysfunction.

Nursing Inquiry Learning Outcome
BSN and RN-BSN students will demonstrate ability to integrate inquiry (nursing process, research, and evidence based practice) into nursing practice.

Nursing Practice Learning Outcome
Graduating BSN students will demonstrate ability to successfully practice nursing at a generalist level (legally defined by the NC Board of Nursing).
